Vessels Of Mercy And Love

In obedience to God’s commandment in Titus 2:3-5, God tells the men to speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine.  To be sober,  reverent , temperate, sound in faith, in love and patience.  And the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things, that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.”.  Ezekiel 44: 11, 23 “They shall be ministers in My sanctuary, as gatekeepers of the house.  And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy...”

 

Five years ago God gave me a vision for a Women’s Mentoring Ministry because of the great need for enrichment, empowerment and equipping women’s lives through spiritual mentoring.  Spiritually mature, Godly women need to open our hearts and spend time with younger women teaching them God’s ways.  Somewhere over the years our society has changed and we are so busy, so rushed and the doorways through which we used to walk freely into each others’ hearts and minds have been shut, closed tight.  I am convinced that if we would accept this challenge fewer women would need counseling, marriages would be saved and our churches and homes would be filled with loving, strong Godly women, wives, and mothers.

 

“The ultimate mentor is a trusted counselor, guide, tutor, coach.  She will be filled with so much wisdom, knowledge truth and grace.  A mentor is sent for a season to preside over your spiritual pilgrimage.  She offers the greatest gift one person can offer another - an objective view of you, sprinkled with insight, humor, wisdom and love.  Your mentor is usually older and wiser, a seasoned veteran of life, a warrior woman who knows God intimately and is willing and able to interpret His ways to you.  Your relationship is a match made in heaven!.  She will help encourage, uplift, advise and correct you gently.  She will help unlock your spirit and stir up the gifts within you and stand guard as you begin to practice the presence of God..A mentoree is one who receives counsel, guidance, instruction and encouragement from a mentor.”( From the book, “Guardians of the Gate”, author Ann Platz, my personal spiritual mother, friend and mentor.)

 

A mentor will make a commitment to invest much of her time in you.  She sees the individual person, God’s unique divine design and potential in you, and encourages you to be all that God intended for you to be. In turn, she will expect you to work and  grow in the fullness of Christ, so that you too, may reach out and mentor a younger woman.  And so God’s love flows, full circle.

 

It is my humble prayer that God will use me and our Aspire Team as  strong, willing, influential vessels, filled to overflowing with His grace, mercy and love, so that we may help to ground you in God’s Word, deepen your faith, help you to have a more intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and help you to know the One who knows and loves you with a perfect love, the Creator of your Soul.
